Ft. Bragg~Camping

Last weekend we headed to Ft. Bragg for camping.  The weather was gorgeous and we had such a great time. 

Sorry it's been a while

WOW, my last post was about 4 months ago!!  Life was pretty crazy in those 4 months, we've had birthdays, summer and just life!  Well I'm hoping to get back to the blog, we are heading to Ft. Bragg for the weekend for our 1 camping trip of the year.  I will take lots of pictures and that will be my next blog.

Croup

Abby is sick AGAIN, but now she has Croup.  She woke up at 1:30am on Tuesday morning and sounded like a seal.  I know right away what it was.  So now she is on a steroid to bring down the inflammation on her vocal cords.  She is getting better, so hopefully she is well enough for the weekend.

SUN!

It's back and I'm thrilled!!!!  I have been kind of in a funk, so maybe now with the sun shining and longer days I will be back to my old self.  Enjoy the sun!

Shingles!!!

That is what I have....and boy do they hurt!  See if you have had Chickenpox's the virus still stays in you, it just lies dormant.  Then when you are older you can get a breakout and it is Shingles.  Apprently they come on through stress.  Stress???  I don't think I'm stressed, but maybe this is my bodies way of saying "hey, take it easy"  So now I'm on medication for the outbreak along with pain meds.  I think once this clears up, i need to start exercising and eating better, maybe this is what I'm stressing about.

Fairytale Town and Funderland

Today was Sacramento Museum Day. So all Zoos, Museums and Parks were free.  So we decided to take Abby to Fairytale Town and Funderland.  She had a blast and so did we.  The weather was perfect and we beat all the crowds.  Here are a few pictures from the day.

Tax Time

Today I did our taxes and we are getting a pretty good refund!! Can't wait to use this to pay off some long overdue bills.  Also we are taking a trip to Santa Cruz in May...just the 3 of us!

Weekend Project

Today I'm getting to one of many projects for the house.  Today I'm painting our bannisters, handrails and the very small wall in our breakfast nook.  The bannisters were replaced in April but never got painted and the breakfast wall, I have always wanted to paint Red!  So I will post before and after pictures later.  I can't wait for my 1st big project of 2011.

I love my kid!

Tonight I put Abby in her crib to go to bed and I said, "Ok it's nighty night time, I love you"  She then looked at me and waved and said "Bye"!  It was so funny and sweet...totally made my night!!!

Dining Room project

I have been searching for something to go on our empty wall behind our dining table.  I saw in the Crate and Barrel catalog a set of 9 small framed mirrors and thought that is perfect...but then I saw the price tag of 100.00, not so perfect.  Then today I went to Ikea and saw the same exact frames for 2.99 a piece!  So I bought 9 and I think it turned out pretty good.

Back to the gym

I did it..I made it back to the gym!  It's been about 3 months since I last made an apperance.  I was starting to take Zumba classes and then I got sick and then well you know......
Anyway, I'm back and I'm going to take it one day at a time.  Like I said in my goals for 2011, it doesn't matter what kind of exercise it is as long as it's exercising!

Goals for 2011

I don't normally have goals for the year, but I'm going to try something different this year.  Some of these will be easier than others, but I would like to accomplish a least half of the list.

1. Start exercising~ Be it going to the gym or just walking, I need to just do something.
2. Redecorate our bedroom
3. Get a new TV
4. Paint our bannisters
5. Paint the breakfast nook
6. Refinish and paint table and chairs in breakfast nook
7. Build our savings
8. Buy a another car
9. Go on vacation
10. Run a 10k
11. Eat healthier

I will keep adding to the list as the year goes on, but this is a good start

New Year.....I'm back!

Happy New Year!!!!  I really neglected my blog the last couple months, but my New Years resolution is to post everyday.  So I hope everyone had a safe and Happy New Year!! Bring on 2011, I can't wait to see what the future holds!!!

Weekend in SF

Tomorrow we are headed to SF for a much needed night away!  We are taking a half day tomorrow and heading to the city.  One of our favorite bands is playing on Friday night.  We are going down with Jason and Eileen and we are meeting up with quite a few more friends.  Going on this weekend is the Hardley, Strictly Bluegrass Festival at the Golden Gate park.  So we are coming back down on Sunday morning with Abby and will spend a beautiful day at the park. 

2:15AM Wake up call!

Usually a 2:15am wake up call comes in the form of Abby needing a bottle or her pants changed.  Not last night.  Last night I was awoken by glass breaking and a car alarm!  Someone was trying to break into Liz and Rudy's (Brian's parents) car on our drive way.  They threw a huge rock in the back window!  As soon as we got out there nobody was there, but a ton of broken glass. So hopefully this was just a random act.  Our neighborhood on the whole is pretty good.  We know most of our neighbors, but about a half a mile on the out skirts the area is a little sketchy.  We did speak with our neighbors today and told all of them what happened.  Everyone usually watches out for each other, so hopefully we can keep the crime to a minimum.

Planters Fasciitis

That is what is wrong with my heel.  It started to bother me on Monday and hasn't gotten better.  So I went to the Dr. today and I was right.  She did tell me no more heels, flats or flip flops?? Huh??  What does this mean, running shoes??? How good will I look in my nice black pants, cute top and TENNIS SHOES!!!  We'll see, I'm not sure I can give up my cute shoes yet!
